Thank you
for downloading the "Dukedogs over Talerddig" - Cambrian
2 Free Activity Pack 1 for our Cambrian 2 Route and Microsoft®
Train Simulator v1.0 - 1.2.
The pack
includes eight activities, developed by Martin Heywood, that all feature
the Dukedog class locos on the Cambrian mainline on a variety of trains
between 1947 and 1959. Descriptions of the activities are listed below.
Note: This
pack requires our Cambrian
2 Route

- Stopping passenger from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth
|
Dukedog
1 - Shrewsbury to Aber stopping
Drive the 1545 stopping passenger service from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth
in June 1947. This train calls at all stations and is not scheduled
to arrive in Aberystwyth until 1915.
Should
you need water, the water columns are operational at Welshpool,
Moat Lane and Machynlleth. The timetable allows additional time
at each of these stations for water to be taken.

2 - Express to Shrewsbury
The
summer holidays are over and hundreds of tourists are heading
home from Aberystwyth and other towns in Mid Wales. To cope with
the additional passengers, the 1145 express service from Aberystwyth
has been lengthened to 12 carriages and is doubleheaded by two
Dukedog locomotoves.
Drive
the 1145 passenger service from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury calling
at Borth, Dovey Junction, Machynlleth, Newtown and Welshpool only.
This train is due to arrive at Shrewsbury at 1442.
Note:
1. Should you need water, the water columns are operational at
Machynlleth and Welshpool.
2. You may be required to stop at one or more locations due to
traffic on the single line section ahead. Where this is the case,
the signal should clear as soon as the train has passed. If it
does not clear, move slowly towards it.

Drive
the 1045 stopping passenger service from Oswestry to Aberystwyth
in October 1952. This train includes two through carriages from
Shrewsbury, which are added to the train at Welshpool.
At
Welshpool, stop in the station at least two carriage lengths before
the end of the platform and press Enter to load passengers. Once
the passengers have been loaded, and not before the correct departure
time, uncouple the loco from the train and collect the front two
carriages from the train in platform 1 (32965-0 & 32965-1).
Add these carriages to the front of your train and continue with
your journey.
Note:
1. This activity uses a preset path. The points will change automatically
when you stop at each reverse point.
2. Should you need water, the water columns are operational at
Welshpool, Moat Lane, Machynlleth and Borth.
3. You may be required to stop at one or more locations due to
traffic on the single line section ahead. Where this is the case,
the signal should clear as soon as the train has passed. If it
does not clear, move slowly towards it.
4. You will need to press the Tab key to pass signals at danger
during the shunt at Welshpool.

the signal should clear as soon as the train has passed. If it

|
Dukedog
7 - Cattle to Welshpool
In
this activity you drive a cattle train from Aberystwyth to the
market at Welshpool in June 1958.
Starting
from the loco shed at Aberystwyth, follow the preset path to the
yard to pick up a train of loaded cattle wagons. Due to a fault
with the water column on the coaling stage road at Aberystwyth
shed, the loco has yet to take water. You must, therefore, stop
at the water column at the entrance to the yard and fill up the
tender there.
After
coupling to the cattle train, wait for 2 or 3 minutes while the
brakes are tested, before proceeding non-stop to Welshpool (if
the signals allow). There is no 'rightaway', so proceed when ready.
On
arrival at Welshpool, stop at the reverse point and reverse into
Cattle Siding 1, where the activity will end (you need to stop).

8 - Bridge engineer's train
It
is January 1959 and the old wooden bridge across the Dovey at
Dovey Junction is suffering foundation problems. In an attempt
to protect the foundations from erosion from the strong currents,
the civil engineer responsible for the line has arranged for several
tons of stone to be delivered to the site one Sunday morning.
In this activity you drive the special bridge engineer's train
from Caersws to Dovey Junction carrying the stone, men and equipment.
Starting
from the loco shed at Moat Lane, follow the preset path to the
yard at Caersws to pick up the Civil Engineering Dept works train.
Shunt this train into the loop at Caersws station and run round.
Proceed non-stop to Dovey Junction. Run through Dovey Junction
station towards Pwllheli, cross the bridge and stop with the rear
vehicle next to the bridgekeeper's cottage, where the activity
will end.
|
1959
- Bridge engineers' train from Moat Lane to Dovey Junction
Note:
1. This activity uses a preset path. The points will change automatically
when you stop at each reverse point.
2. Press the Tab key to pass signals at danger at Caersws.
3. Do not exceed 25mph.
4. Save before and after coupling with the front coupler.
